Alacrity and Vivacity differences

Are the Alacrity and Vivacity in fact the same boat? Steve Henkel sent us his reflections on boat size and diffent ways to measure these. His article has already been published on the Alacrity site, so please go there to read it.

To reiterate: What I am after is simply the LOD (length on deck) from the stemhead to the top of the transom, of both the Alacrity 19 and the Vivacity 20 (and also now, the Vivacity 24) to check my records. Even if the boat is in the water, measuring the length shouldn't be too hard. It can be done in stages, e.g. with a tape measure, find the length from the stemhead on deck to centerline of the mast, record that dimension, then from the mast centerline to the aft end of the cabintop, record again, then from the cabintop to the transom, record again, and finally add the three dimensions to get the LOD. Two people will make the job easier, with one on each end of the tape measure. The only caution is to try to make all measurements horizontally i.e. parallel to the waterline; maybe by using a plumbob, or at least trying for horizontality by eye. I hope someone out there can help. Thanks.
